最近太封闭,这样的事情居然没注意... 从中立的立场来看,强赞Oracle这笔收购, 尤其是考虑到IBM和Hyperion已经合作了这么多年...
"On March 1, Oracle announced our plan to buy Hyperion, a leading provider of performance management software. The transaction extends Oracle's business intelligence capabilities to offer the most comprehensive system for enterprise performance management. We expect the transaction to close in April 2007, subject to regulatory and other approvals. Until the deal closes, each company will continue to operate independently, and it is business as usual."

Oracle v IBM
This doesn't have an immediate impact on IBM as they had bigger partnerships with Cognos and Business Objects. An acquisition of either of those vendors would have caused the loss of a lot of shared development and relationship building work. It may have a long term impact. In the acquisition FAQ Oracle, not satisfied with slamming SAP, also take a potshot at data integration stacks like the IBM Information Server:

They have a point. The IBM Information Server covers just about every part of BI except the BI tool itself. With IBM trying to flog data warehouse appliances and all in one information integration platforms you have to wonder whether they can continue to rely on partnerships for BI, especially if Oracle starts buying more of them. If Oracle start bundling out of the box Hyperion dashboard reporting of data integration and data quality processes they make the management of data integration easier.
IBM该好好琢磨一下对策了,alphablox和cubeview现在还不成气候, 如果Oracle再把BO等收了呢?
